See here are the possible reasons why your site pages may be getting low rankings in search:

  • Using of More ads without any good content.

Stop showing more ads without any good content.

Google thinks it as spam and so it may result in De-indexing of your blog. Use the WordPress Ping Optimizer plugin to fix this problem. Don’t do too much of Search Engine Optimization.

Some bloggers think that- by increasing the density of keywords in body and meta-description they can get high rankings. But, this is not true as Google thinks it a bad way to get high ranks. Just try to keep a density of 2-3% of the keyword and enjoy good ranks. Also use keyword research software like SEMRUSH and Adwords to find good & low competitive keywords. If you still don’t get good ranks, write a guest post linking it to that post or comment on relevant blog posts with the link of your post.

Unusual link building works will drag you down to hell.

This is again a reason of getting low rankings in search after a penguin update. So, don’t do unusual linking in your posts. Try to impress your readers by providing fresh and solid content only.

Try to become more relevant with your content.

Never try to rank higher by giving a meta-tag which is irrelevant to the post. Also don’t add any irrelevant link to your posts. Again guest blogs should never make their blogs an article directory. They should only accept posts from same niche.

Be real in-front of search engines. Socialize Your blog.

Don’t stay hidden. Try to prove yourself as a real person in-front of search engines. Make pages like contact us or about us. Create social pages and sharing buttons in your posts to get more exposure and traffic. Try to get more subscribers from social networking sites. Keep your blogs secured from spammers and hackers.

Use plugins like Malware Finder to scan your blog. This will protect your blog from viruses and bad coding. Also keep your blog update to fight against spammers and hackers. Keep strong passwords and change periodically also install “Limit Login Attempts” plugin to limit the number of login trials.

    This is good S.E.O 101 for people that are new to the game, but it served me a good reminder – I haven’t used any Black Hat S.E.O on my blog and it is starting to pay off :) . I read some months ago that Google also considers the layout of a page as an important S.E.O factor – if only I was a better designer this would be easier (sure, I can code though).

    I also know cloaking links is a no-no by Google – I have heard it being described as Black Hat but also Grey Hat at the same time.

    You also mentioned using AddMeFast as a way to boost the social signals of a page/site… I think this is black hat because there are numerous bots out there that can automate this stuff, and some people use sites like AddMeFast to artificially boost social signals. I have tried AddMeFast for a month, but my Facebook insights aren’t giving me the engagement stats I was expecting. Also, it would be better to get targeted social signals – e.g people that will actually look at your content and engage with it (via visiting your pages or commenting).

      Thanks for the comment Rob. Using of AddMeFast excessively is really a no. But when you are new to some platform, you can just use it to show new real visitors that yes you have likes, people like me. By seeing this some will like. < < It’s a pure marketing strategy actually, and works if you know how to play with it… ;)

    This is why I am not purely a white-hat S.E.O practitioner (now I feel like a hypocrite for saying my blog is white hat). There are grey-hat S.E.O techniques that can be quite beneficial, but it will carry some big risks – which need to be planned, otherwise it will end up being diagnosed as pure black-hat. While I don’t plan on using black-hat S.E.O techniques on my blog, there are some grey-hat techniques I plan to keep looking into.
